G. Pilar Wilder Lowden
Pilar is founder and director Hayiya Dance Theatre Movement Institute and Center for Cultural Arts (19th Season) and Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. (24th Season). She is currently lead instructor at Hayiya, W. African dance Instructor at Wesleyan College and Cutno Dance in Augusta, GA and formally the Performance Arts Technology Consultant, Fine Arts Department Chair and dance instructor at West Side High School in Macon, GA. An active member in the community, Pilar serves on many community boards and is also leader for Fellowship Bible Baptist Church's Praise and Worship Dance Ministry. A current member of National Dance Education Organization, Pilar was recently selected by the Knight Foundation and Dance/USA to serve on a national panel of dance educators. She is currently enrolled in the University of North Carolina at Greensboro's Masters of Dance Education Program. For complete bio: Click Here
Princess Davis
Princess is a fun, highly-enthusiastic dance instructor. She is a choreographer and performer with more than 13 years of experience specializing in Hip Hop dance. Principal member of Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. with extensive training in various styles of dance including West African, StreetJazz, Creative Movement, Contemporary and Liturgical. Princess has made multiple experiences on the national stage via BET 106 & Park and more. She is also the hip hop instructor and competition team lead at G. Rhythm Performing Arts Center in Dublin, Georgia.
Rodney Jones
Rodney Jones is a well-rounded and versatile dancer and choreographer. Passionate about teaching, Rodney's choreography explores jazz, traditional and competitive HBCU Dance (popularized on Lifetime TV's BringIt!), hip hop, contemporary, and West African dance. Rodney Jones is a principal member of Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. and founder the national championship winning team Pearls of Perfection (2013). With more than 13 years of performance and competitive experience in tumbling, cheer, dance, flag, and majorette, Rodney continues to dedicate himself to providing the best possible experience for willing students to reach their maximum potential.
Kierra Brown
A dancer since age 4, Kierra is no stranger to the dance floor. A native of Macon, GA, Kierra describes what she does not as a job but a passion. In addition to teaching ballet, tap, and jazz at Hayiya Dance Theatre, Kierra also teaches at venues throughout the Middle GA area including at The Tubman Museum, Next Level Camp for Bibb MtZion, Open Door Pentecostal Church and The Fort Valley State University where she is the Auxiliary Coordinator for the Blue Machine Marching Band. Her motto is "Dance like no one is watching and if they are ask them to join in."
Angelita Phillips
Angelita is a Macon native who developed a passion for dance at a young age while attending the then Progressive Christian Academy. While there, she was actively involved in Rainbow Connection as a dancer and subsequently a choreographer. She was also an active member of the Teen Performing Arts Club (TPAC) at Booker T Washington Community Center. Angelita continued to hone her dance, cheer and leadership skills through high school and her student career at Clark Atlanta University. Mother of a fellow Hayiya student, Mahogany Rice, Angelita is also a prinicpal member of Hayiya Dance Theatre, Inc. An active community volunteer and choreographer, Angelita's motto is "The starting point to achievement is desire".
